How it works
From your photos to their portrait
It takes about five minutes to order. We take care of everything else, and you choose how they look before anything is made.
Tell us about them
Share two to six photos where you can see their face and coat clearly. Daylight is best, and a photo from the side helps a lot. Tell us their name, anything special about how they look, and choose a cosy room for them: a cottage by the stove, a modern living room, a book-lined study or a log cabin.Choose the portrait that's them
Within a few hours we'll email you three portraits of them in their room. Pick the one that feels most like them. If none of them is quite right, tell us what to change and we'll make new ones.We bring them to life
The portrait you chose comes to life: resting by the fire, dozing, stirring, looking about the room. We'll email you as soon as it's ready, usually within a day.Press play
Download it from your private order page and play it on your TV, a digital photo frame, a tablet or a computer. Set it to repeat and it plays on peacefully for as long as you like.
What you receive
Your portrait comes in four shapes, so it fills your screen without black bars. You get all four.
Widescreen, 16:9
16:10, the shape of most frames
4:3, held sideways, like an iPad
2:1, held sideways
They're standard video files that play on almost any screen. They stay on your order page for a year, so you can download them whenever suits you. Keep a copy somewhere safe and they're yours for good. , paid once.
Playing it
On a TV
Copy the TV version onto a USB stick and plug it into your TV. Open it in the TV's media player, press play, then turn on "repeat" in the play options. Most smart TVs and TV sticks will play it straight away.
On a digital photo frame
Copy the photo frame version onto the frame's memory card (often an SD card) or a USB stick. Choose video on the frame and turn on repeat or loop. Any frame that plays video should work.
On a phone or tablet
Download the phone or tablet version (they're big files, so use Wi-Fi), open it in your photos or files app, turn the screen sideways and set it to repeat or loop.
On a computer
Open any of the versions in your usual video player and set it to repeat. Lovely on a laptop on the kitchen side.
Questions
What if it doesn't look like them?
You see three portraits before anything else is made, and you choose. If none of them is right, tell us what's wrong (the markings, the ears, the colour of their coat) and we'll make new ones. If it still isn't them, just reply to our email and we'll put it right with you.
Can I order for someone else?
Yes. It makes a beautiful gift. Order with their dog's photos and your own email, then pass the files on, or copy them onto a USB stick to give with a card. More about giving one.
Can I make one for a dog who has passed away?
Yes. Any clear photos you have will help, even older ones. If you'd like to talk it through first, email us; we're happy to help. More about memorial portraits.
Is it a painting, a photo or AI?
It's a new picture of your dog, made with the help of AI tools and guided by your photos and notes, then brought to life as a gentle film. It isn't a copy of one of your photos, and you choose the portrait before anything is brought to life.
How long does it take?
Your three portraits to choose from usually arrive within a day of ordering. Once you choose, the finished portrait usually follows within a day. If it's for a birthday or Christmas, leave a few days spare.
What does it cost?
One price, paid once when you order: . That includes all four versions of your portrait, and new portraits to choose from if the first ones aren't quite right.
