In memory
Remembering them, resting by the fire
When a dog has gone, it's often the small things we miss most: the sigh as they settled, the slow blink, the ear that lifted at their name. A living portrait keeps a little of that in the room.
Made from the photos you have
You don't need new or perfect photos. Any clear photos help, even older ones or ones taken on a phone. If you can, include one from the side and one of their face. Tell us anything special about how they looked, like the grey on their muzzle or a patch on their chest, and we'll make sure it's there.
What to tell us
Photos don't always show everything. In the notes on the order page, tell us the things you remember: how grey their muzzle had become, the true colour of their coat in daylight, the ear that never quite stood up, the white tip on their tail. If your photos are from different years, tell us which ones are closest to how you'd like to remember them.
Then choose a room where they'd have been happy: a country cottage with a wood-burning stove, a modern living room, a book-lined study or a log cabin.
You choose before anything is made
We make three portraits of them, resting on a soft rug by the fire, and you pick the one that feels most like them. If none of them is quite right, tell us what's different and we'll make new ones. Only then do we bring your portrait to life.
A quiet place for them
Your portrait is a gentle, looping film. Play it on your TV in the evening, on a digital photo frame beside your chair, or on a tablet in the kitchen. They doze, they stir, they look your way, and then they settle again.
Questions people ask
I only have a few photos. Is that enough?
Often, yes. One clear photo of their face can be enough, and a photo from the side helps us get their shape and markings right. If you're not sure, email us the photos you have before you order and we'll tell you honestly.
What if the portraits don't look like them?
You see three portraits before anything is brought to life. If none of them feels like them, tell us what's different and we'll make new ones, up to two more times on your order page. After that, we'll work it out with you by email.
Can I keep it for good?
Yes. You receive four video files, shaped for a TV, a digital photo frame, a tablet and a phone. They stay on your order page for a year; save a copy somewhere safe and they're yours to keep.
Can I see what one looks like first?
Of course. Watch our example portraits: four dogs, each in a different room.
Talk to us first, if you'd like
If you're not sure your photos will be enough, or you'd just like to ask something before you order, email hello@livingframes.co.uk. We'll take it gently, and we're happy to help.
